Connectivity FAQs


 General and process related

Ans- Please refer Exchange circular NSE/MSD/41769 dated August 02, 2019.

Ans- VSAT connectivity shall be discontinued w.e.f. End of Day March 31, 2020.

Ans- Yes, members have to place the surrender request through ENIT latest by December 31, 2019. If the request is not placed on or before December 31, 2019, Exchange will initiate the surrender request on behalf of members.

Ans- Members can place VSAT surrender request on the below mentioned path on ENIT.

ENIT>MEMBERSHIP>TCP IP SCENARIO>SCENARIO SURRENDER

Ans-Surrender request once placed by member on ENIT cannot be cancelled as Exchange is in the process of discontinuing VSAT connectivity.

Ans- There is a notice period of 3 months for VSAT surrender as per the HCL contract.  As per existing process, members shall need to pay necessary VSAT usage charges for 3 months from the date of placing surrender request successfully on ENIT.

Ans- Members can opt for any of the below mentioned options for connecting to the Exchange trading platform

  • Leased Lines (Terrestrial Connectivity)
  • MPLS (Multiprotocol label switching)

Ans- Members can place request via ENIT for other modes of connectivity on the below mentioned path:

For Leased Lines & MPLS: ENIT>MEMBERSHIP>TCP IP SCENARIO>SCENARIO ACTIVATION

Ans- Requests for shifting of VSATs will not be allowed with effect from the circular date.

Ans- Requests for shifting of VSATs will not be allowed with effect from the circular date.

Ans-On account of discontinuation of VSAT connectivity, members shall be allowed to place only the following requests on ENIT:

  1. Surrender
  2. Cancellation of pending request such as Activation/ Shifting
  3. Activation and Surrender of Child IP.

Ans- Yes. Members can apply for Child IP on my active VSAT latest until December 31, 2019.

Ans- Yes, the pending request can be canceled by placing a cancellation request in ENIT. The charges in case of cancellation of activation/ shifting requests are given below.

Ans- In case of NEAT user ids, Members shall need to disable or shift the NEAT user ids active on the VSAT connectivity, to any other connectivity by placing a request through ENIT.

In case of NNF/Non NEAT user ids, members shall need to disable/shift these ids under a different Branch manager/ corporate manager by placing a request in ENIT.

Ans- Members need to place request through ENIT for removal of multi lock of user ids from VSAT connectivity.

Ans- The below mentioned things should be ensured before placing the surrender request through ENIT:

  • No user ids (NEAT/ NNF/Non-NEAT) are present on the VSAT connectivity.
  • No user ids are multi locked with the VSAT connectivity

Ans- Members should ensure the following points:-

  1. The below sequence should be followed while disabling/shifting of user ids:
  1. CTCL enabled Dealer user ids/Non Neat user ids.
  2. Dealer user ids
  3. Branch Manager
  4. Corporate Manager
  1. If a CTCL enabled/Non Neat user id is shifting to a new TAP IP, a Branch Manager/Corporate Manager should already be present on the destination TAP IP.
 
Commercials and Infrastructure related

Ans- Exchange processing fee of Rs 1000 towards surrender and cancellation of VSAT request shall be waived off for application received from August 01, 2019.

Ans-

  1. HCL shall refund the AMC ARC on pro-rata basis after adjusting the notice period of 3 months. Member may refer the PO to HCLC.
  2. HCL shall not refund the ARC paid towards DOT/WPC/Bandwidth charges. Member may refer the PO to HCLCSSL.

Ans- As per contract with HCL, effort charges of Rs 6000 plus GST to HCL is applicable to members. However, in its continuous endeavor to provide members utmost convenience, NSE shall bear such charges. Thus, Members are not required to pay any surrender effort charges to HCL/NSE.

Ans- After member puts in the surrender request in ENIT, the same shall be shared with HCL by NSE. Member and HCL needs to mutually decide on the date and time for VSAT disconnection, physical dismantling and withdrawal  of electronic & RF equipment from member premises.

Members are required to provide necessary support to HCL, assign SPOC for activity, and arrange proper access permission, work permit, gate-pass to take back electronic & RF equipment, sign-stamp HCL customer call report.

Ans- HCL shall dismantle and take back only electronic & RF equipment (IDU, ODU & LNBC).

Ans- The antenna reflector, metal parts etc. shall be retained at member locations and the same to be handled as per member’s prerogative.

Merge and Demerge request facility shall be available w.e.f. August 30, 2019.

Members can place the above request through ENIT at the below path

  • Membership>TCP IP Scenario>Merge
  • Membership>TCP IP Scenario>De Merge

Requests for Merge and Demerge shall be allowed only for commissioned leased lines under the managed service modes.

No. Exchange informed discontinuation of VSAT services via circular NSE/MSD/41769 dated August 02, 2019.  In lieu of the same, Merging of VSAT shall not be available.

Currently, such a facility is not available. As mentioned earlier, requests for Merge and Demerge are accepted only on commissioned leased lines under the managed service modes.

No. Members’ needs to ensure that there are no request pending on the links to be merged. In this case, as the shifting is pending on a connectivity to be merged, the same shall not be accepted.

After the merger activity, only one IP out of the 2 merging IPs shall continue to exist. Members are required to confirm the IP to be retained (resultant IP) while placing the merger request. The non-retained IP shall be considered as surrendered and the boxes for the same shall be disabled.

Yes. Router shall be retained by the member and can be used as per member’s discretion. However, member cannot cancel the router purchase order issued to Sify for demerge request.

Yes. The request for Merge/Demerge requests can be cancelled till the request is not completed on ENIT.

  1. Request for Merge or Demerge is accepted having met the following conditions:
    Both merging connectivity shall be have:
    1. Same bandwidth
    2. Same scenario
    3. Present at the same location.
  2. Merging and De-merging connectivity shall not have any pending requests on the same including those of Child IPs.
  3. For demerge activity, member shall ensure availability of router as specified by NSE, procured from Sify and having covered under warranty/AMC with Sify (earlier procured under managed service mode or new procurement).

Members need to ensure that active user ID’s on the non-retained IP are disabled or shifted before placing the merge request. The request for disablement or shifting can be placed via ENIT on the following path:

  • Trade>User ID request>Disable Neat User ID
  • Trade>User ID request>Shifting of Neat User ID

The following points needs to be ensured before placing the shifting/disablement of user ID’s request via ENIT:-

  1. Disabling/shifting of user ids should be carried out in the below sequence:
    1. CTCL enabled Dealer user ids/Non Neat user ids.
    2. Dealer user ids
    3. Branch Manager
    4. Corporate Manager
  2. If a CTCL enabled/Non Neat user id is shifting to a new TAP IP, a Branch Manager/Corporate Manager should already be present on the destination TAP IP.

Members need to ensure that no user ID’s are multi locked on the non-retained IP before placing the merge request. The request for removal of multi lock of user ID’s can be placed via ENIT on the following path:

  • Trade>User ID request>Multiple Lock Neat User ID.

Processing fee shall not be applicable for the above requests.

NSE specified router, as applicable under managed service mode router is required for the new IP resulting out of Demerge. The said router should be under warranty / AMC with Sify. In case the member already has a router meeting the above requirements, the same may be used; else a new router should be procured.

Member needs to send a duly filled, signed & stamped Purchase order (PO) to Sify Technologies Ltd. on the email id <onsite_nse@sifycorp.com>. Members are requested to refer to circular ref no. NSE/MSD/40093 dated January 31, 2019 for format of PO. In the purchase order, the delivery address must be same where the scenario/link is operational. Lead time for router delivery shall be 8 weeks post receipt of complete PO by Sify from member.
